What is "Content Marketing"?

Getting Brighter Logo

Content Marketing has become a big buzzword as of late, but the concept is still sound.  Marketing your business involves engaging several channels in order to attract customers.  As with traditional advertising, mediums like search engine marketing ( SEM ), social media marketing, and email marketing all rely on quality content to entice the customer to consume the medium and ultimately to purchase the product or service being advertised.

Content is what you say about your business and it is a representation of your business.  It can be written words (like the text you put on your website), it can be presented through graphics (a diagram that explains how your product or service works for instance) or video but no matter what form content may take, is the means that you use to communicate the benefit and value of your business or organization to your clients.

WHY IS CONTENT MARKETING IMPORTANT?

Content Marketing is important for two main reasons:

1. Attracting Customers

This is the Biggie!  Good Content means that potential clients will understand and relate to your business or organization better and will be more likely to buy from you or get involved with your organization.

2.  SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION OR SEO

Being found by search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing) is directly related to the quality of the content on your website.  Without good content, you simply will not be found when prospective clients look for companies or organizations like yours.  Any Search Engine Optimization strategy that doesn't focus on developing excellent website copy that takes into account the ideal customers for your business, what makes you exceptional and what sets you apart from your competitors will not produce the results you need for your business.

Without content, a website is an empty container and your social media presence is pointless.

Getting Brighter works with businesses and organizations to create content and content strategies that drive business.  A typical content strategy can include a variety of media including:

Web Copy, Proposal Responses, Corporate Profiles, Brochures, Fliers, Graphics, Business Cards, Corporate Presentations, Videos, Blog articles, and white papers.
